Overview

VCE-009.1 is a small molecule positive allosteric modulator (PAM) of the cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB1R) currently in preclinical development by Emerald Health Biotechnology España (VivaCell Biotechnology Spain). As a PAM, VCE-009.1 enhances the activity of the receptor in response to endogenous ligands rather than activating it directly. This approach aims to provide therapeutic benefits for pain management while minimizing the psychotropic side effects often associated with direct CB1R agonists.
