Overview

VCN-03 is an oncolytic adenovirus-mediated therapy being developed for the treatment of cancer. It is designed to selectively infect and replicate within tumor cells, causing direct lysis and promoting immune-mediated antitumor effects. The mechanism is presumed to be similar to other VCN oncolytic viruses, which have stroma-degrading properties and enhance both direct cytolytic activity in cancer cells and immune cell infiltration into tumors. Developed initially by VCN Biosciences, a subsidiary of Synthetic Biologics, VCN-03 represents an advanced candidate in the oncolytic virus therapy pipeline, but specific molecular or payload details beyond its class as oncolytic adenovirus are not publicly disclosed[13][16].
