VCN-11 is a next-generation genetically engineered oncolytic adenovirus designed for cancer therapy. It expresses the enzyme **hyaluronidase (PH20)** and incorporates a proprietary **albumin-binding domain (ABD)** on its viral shell, enabling systemic administration. By degrading hyaluronan in the tumor stroma, VCN-11 enhances tumor penetration, promotes tumor cell lysis, and facilitates immune responses against the tumor. The albumin-coating mechanism allows the virus to evade neutralizing antibodies, which increases efficacy after repeated intravenous dosing, overcoming a major limitation for systemic oncolytic viral therapies. VCN-11 is being developed primarily for treating solid tumors, with demonstrated preclinical efficacy and safety[1][2][3][4][5][13].
