Vectorized anti-amyloid-beta antibody is an experimental gene therapy being developed by **Voyager Therapeutics** for the treatment of **Alzheimer's disease**. This therapeutic approach utilizes an adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector, specifically engineered with a blood-brain barrier (BBB)-penetrant capsid from Voyager's **TRACER™** platform, to deliver genetic instructions directly to the brain. Once administered via a single intravenous infusion, the vector enables the brain's own cells to produce and secrete anti-amyloid-beta antibodies. This method is designed to overcome the limitations of traditional passive monoclonal antibody therapies, which often struggle to cross the BBB and require frequent, high-dose intravenous infusions. By producing the antibodies locally within the central nervous system, the therapy aims to achieve sustained, long-term antibody expression with significantly higher brain-to-plasma ratios (over 15-fold greater than conventional delivery) to effectively clear amyloid-beta plaques.
