Vectra 3D is a topical veterinary combination drug developed by Ceva Animal Health for the treatment and prevention of parasitic infections in dogs. The formulation contains three active ingredients that work synergistically to provide broad-spectrum protection: dinotefuran, a fast-acting neonicotinoid insecticide that targets nicotinic acetylcholine receptors; permethrin, a broad-spectrum pyrethroid that acts on sodium channels to repel and kill parasites; and pyriproxyfen, an insect growth regulator that targets juvenile hormone receptors to prevent flea eggs and larvae from maturing. Applied as a monthly spot-on treatment, Vectra 3D kills parasites through contact, meaning they do not need to bite the animal to be affected. It is effective against fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, lice, mites, and sand flies, with sustained efficacy lasting at least 30 days after a single application.
