Overview

VEGF superagonist is a recombinant protein analog developed by Trophogen, designed to act as a high-potency activator of the Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) receptor. While most VEGF-targeted therapies in oncology are inhibitors designed to block angiogenesis, this superagonist is being developed for the imaging and treatment of thyroid cancer and other solid tumors. The program includes both human and veterinary applications, with the latter specifically targeting cancers in dogs. By hyper-activating the VEGF receptor, the agent is intended to facilitate specific imaging or therapeutic strategies. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
