This is a combination regimen consisting of a vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR) inhibitor, nab-paclitaxel (nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel), and capecitabine. VEGFR inhibitors are targeted therapies that block the activity of the VEGF/VEGFR pathway, thereby inhibiting angiogenesis—the formation of new blood vessels—which is critical for tumor growth and metastasis[6][2][4]. Nab-paclitaxel is a microtubule inhibitor formulated as albumin-bound nanoparticles to enhance delivery and reduce toxicity compared to conventional paclitaxel. Capecitabine is an oral prodrug that is converted to 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) in the body, interfering with DNA synthesis in rapidly dividing cells. This combination aims to target tumor vasculature, disrupt cell division, and inhibit DNA synthesis for synergistic antitumor effects.
