VEGFR-2 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor 2 (VEGFR-2), a key mediator of angiogenesis and tumor progression. By utilizing the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, the siRNA sequence specifically targets and promotes the degradation of VEGFR-2 mRNA, thereby reducing the protein expression of the receptor on the cell surface. In preclinical research, particularly in pancreatic cancer models, VEGFR-2 siRNA has been shown to significantly inhibit the migration and invasion of cancer cells by disrupting the VEGF-A/VEGFR-2 signaling axis and its downstream effectors, such as MAPK and PI3K. This modality is primarily explored as a targeted approach to overcome the limitations of systemic inhibitors and to validate VEGFR-2 as a therapeutic target in solid tumors.
