Overview

VEGFR1-A02-770 is a **synthetic peptide vaccine derived from the vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1 (VEGFR1)**, and is specifically **restricted to HLA-A*02:01**. The peptide sequence (TLFWLLLTL) is designed to induce a tumor vessel-specific cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) response targeting VEGFR1, a receptor highly expressed on tumor endothelium. The vaccine aims to promote anti-tumor effects by activating the immune system to selectively attack tumor-associated vasculature and, indirectly, the tumor itself. It has been **tested as a subcutaneous vaccine in combination with adjuvants such as Montanide ISA51**, both in pancreatic cancer (often combined with gemcitabine) and renal cell carcinoma, and is under investigation in other solid tumors. Early-phase clinical trials have demonstrated **immune activation and preliminary safety**, with signals of clinical benefit observed in some patients with advanced cancer[1][2].
