VEGFR1-A24-1084 is a synthetic peptide vaccine designed to induce cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) responses against cells expressing vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1 (VEGFR1). The peptide is restricted to the HLA-A*2402 allele and targets tumor angiogenesis by stimulating an immune response specifically against tumor vascular endothelial cells. It has been investigated in phase I and II clinical trials for advanced solid tumors, including gastric cancer, glioma, and metastatic renal cell carcinoma. The primary mechanism of action is immunostimulation via induction of CTLs that recognize the VEGFR1 epitope presented on tumor vasculature. Clinical studies have shown that the vaccine can induce specific immune responses with a favorable safety profile when administered alone or in combination with chemotherapy[3][6][7][9].
