Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Veillonella atypica FB0054 is a next-generation probiotic strain developed by FitBiomics. It is a member of the Veillonella genus, which is known to colonize the human gut and metabolize lactate (lactic acid) produced during exercise into propionate, a short-chain fatty acid that serves as an energy source. By reducing systemic lactate levels and increasing propionate, the probiotic is intended to improve physical endurance, increase energy levels, and decrease fatigue. The strain was originally identified in the microbiomes of elite athletes and has been evaluated in clinical trials for its performance-enhancing and anti-fatigue properties.
