**VEL-091604** is a topical herbal cream developed by BSI Beauty Science Intelligence for atopic dermatitis. It is a heterogeneous botanical composition containing extracts of gentian root (*Gentiana lutea*), licorice root (*Glycyrrhiza uralensis*), and willow bark (*Salix daphnoides*). In a randomized UV-erythema study, the cream reduced inflammation versus placebo and showed activity comparable with 1% hydrocortisone acetate; a small open-label proof-of-concept study in atopic dermatitis reported rapid improvement in lesional SCORAD over two weeks without recorded adverse events.
