Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Velgraft** is a living allogeneic cellular skin substitute for chronic, non-infected wounds. It comprises a biodegradable polymeric chitosan-gelatin scaffold seeded with human bone-marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells and mesenchymal-stem-cell-derived adipocytes. The product is applied as a wound graft/dressing and is intended to provide a temporary extracellular matrix-like scaffold, support host-cell migration, and deliver cell-derived growth factors and cytokines that may promote angiogenesis, tissue remodeling, and wound repair. Velgraft is being evaluated in a Phase 1 randomized controlled study for chronic diabetic foot ulcers with granulation tissue.
