Overview
Velvy is an herbal combination syrup developed by MTI Medical for the treatment of cough and various respiratory conditions. The formulation consists of three primary botanical extracts: *Hedera helix* (English ivy), thyme oil, and *Glycyrrhiza glabra* (licorice). These ingredients are traditionally utilized for their synergistic expectorant, mucolytic, and antitussive properties. *Hedera helix* contains saponins that facilitate the thinning of mucus and improve airway clearance, while thyme oil provides antimicrobial and antispasmodic effects on the bronchial muscles. *Glycyrrhiza glabra* acts as a demulcent to soothe irritated respiratory mucosa. Velvy is approved and marketed as an oral syrup for both acute and chronic respiratory ailments.
