Venetoclax + 3+7 + Midostaurin is an investigational four-drug combination regimen being evaluated for the treatment of newly diagnosed FLT3-mutated Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in patients eligible for intensive chemotherapy. The regimen integrates venetoclax (a BCL-2 inhibitor) and midostaurin (a multi-kinase/FLT3 inhibitor) with the standard "3+7" intensive induction chemotherapy backbone, which typically consists of three days of an anthracycline (such as daunorubicin) and seven days of cytarabine. This combination is currently being studied in the Phase 1/2 MIDOVEN trial, sponsored by University Hospital, Bordeaux, with the aim of improving complete remission rates and survival outcomes by simultaneously targeting multiple survival pathways in leukemic cells.
