Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VennVax is an experimental, epitope-driven smallpox and poxvirus vaccine that uses a DNA-prime, peptide-boost regimen incorporating multiple T cell epitopes from vaccinia virus to elicit robust, polyfunctional T cell responses and protective immunity against vaccinia infection in preclinical models.[1][3] Designed using immunoinformatics by EpiVax, the construct focuses on conserved CD4+ and CD8+ T cell epitopes to provide broad coverage and is intended as a safer, non-replicating alternative to traditional live vaccinia vaccines, with potential cross-protection against related orthopoxviruses such as monkeypox.[1][3][5]
