Overview

Venoglobulin-I is an intravenous immune globulin (IVIG) preparation made from pooled human plasma containing a high concentration of immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies. It is used to strengthen the body's natural defense system in individuals with weakened immune systems, such as those with primary immunodeficiency disorders. Venoglobulin-I is also indicated for increasing platelet counts in patients with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), and may be used for other conditions including chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), multifocal motor neuropathy, dermatomyositis, and prevention of vascular complications in Kawasaki syndrome. The mechanism of action involves providing passive immunity by supplying exogenous IgG antibodies that neutralize pathogens and modulate immune responses through multiple pathways, including Fc receptor blockade, complement modulation, suppression of pathogenic autoantibodies, and anti-inflammatory effects[10][1][2][7].
