VentaProst

VentaProst is an investigational **inhaled epoprostenol** product developed by Aerogen Pharma for delivery through a dedicated custom drug-delivery system. Epoprostenol is a prostacyclin pathway agonist that activates the prostacyclin receptor on pulmonary vascular smooth muscle, increasing cyclic AMP signaling and producing pulmonary vasodilation. VentaProst has been evaluated in Phase 2a studies to reduce pulmonary vascular resistance in patients undergoing cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass and to assess treatment of respiratory, cardiac, or circulatory failure in mechanically ventilated patients with COVID-19.
