Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Vergenix is a product line of regenerative medicine medical devices developed by CollPlant Ltd., utilizing bioengineered recombinant human type I collagen (rhCollagen) expressed in tobacco plants. The flagship product, Vergenix STR (Soft Tissue Repair Matrix), is an injectable gel that combines rhCollagen with autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to treat soft tissue injuries, specifically lateral epicondylar tendinopathy (tennis elbow). It functions as a bioactive scaffold that promotes cell recruitment, adhesion, and proliferation while facilitating the controlled release of growth factors from the PRP. Other products in the line include Vergenix FG (Flowable Gel), a wound filler for acute and chronic wounds, and Vergenix BVF (Bone Void Filler) for spinal fusion procedures.
