Versamune MUC1 (formerly known as PDS0103) is a novel investigational immunotherapy designed to target mucin-1 (MUC1), a protein over-expressed in multiple solid tumors such as colorectal, ovarian, breast, pancreatic, and non-small cell lung cancer. The therapy utilizes the proprietary Versamune platform to deliver highly immunogenic agonist epitopes of the oncogenic C-terminal region of MUC1. Its mechanism aims to stimulate a potent and durable tumor-infiltrating T-cell response against MUC1-positive cancers. Preclinical data suggest that Versamune MUC1 can generate clinically effective immune responses leading to tumor shrinkage, delayed disease progression, and prolonged survival. It is administered via subcutaneous injection either alone or in combination with other immunotherapies or cancer treatments—most notably with the IL-12 fused antibody-drug conjugate PDS01ADC[2][7][9]. The drug is being developed by PDS Biotech in collaboration with the National Cancer Institute for use in patients with unresectable or metastatic colorectal carcinoma who have failed previous treatments[1][5].
