Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Versavo is a biosimilar of bevacizumab, developed and manufactured by Dr. Reddy's Laboratories. Bevacizumab is a humanized recombinant monoclonal antibody that targets and neutralizes vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), the principal driver of angiogenesis in tumors. By binding to VEGF-A, Versavo inhibits its interaction with VEGF receptors on endothelial cells, thereby blocking the formation of new blood vessels (angiogenesis) essential for tumor growth and metastasis. Versavo is indicated for use in combination with chemotherapy or other agents for the treatment of multiple cancers including metastatic colorectal cancer, advanced non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), recurrent glioblastoma, metastatic renal cell carcinoma, advanced cervical cancer, ovarian cancer, metastatic breast cancer, as well as cancers of the fallopian tube or primary peritoneal origin[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9].
