Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VesiculoVax™ Chikungunya Vaccine is a preclinical-stage, viral vector vaccine developed by Auro Vaccines, a subsidiary of Aurobindo Pharma USA. The vaccine utilizes the VesiculoVax™ platform, which employs attenuated, replication-competent vesiculovirus (VSV) vectors engineered to express the surface glycoproteins of the Chikungunya virus (CHIKV). By presenting these antigens in their authentic form, the vaccine stimulates the immune system to produce potent neutralizing antibodies and protective immune responses. It is specifically designed to prevent the arthralgic manifestations associated with CHIKV infection. Preclinical studies have demonstrated single-dose protection against lethal infection in mouse models, and the developer has completed safety studies including repeat-dose toxicology, neurovirulence, and biodistribution in preparation for clinical development.
