Overview
VesiculoVax Filovirus is a multivalent, recombinant vesicular stomatitis virus (rVSV)-based vaccine developed by Auro Vaccines and out-licensed to Emergent BioSolutions. It is designed for pre- and post-exposure protection against hemorrhagic fever diseases caused by multiple filovirus species, specifically Zaire ebolavirus, Sudan ebolavirus, and Marburg virus. The vaccine utilizes a blend of individual attenuated rVSV vector constructs (such as rVSV-N4CT1) expressing the glycoprotein (GP) antigens of the target filoviruses. Preclinical studies in non-human primates have demonstrated that a single dose provides 100% rapid-onset protection against lethal challenges of the targeted filoviruses. The program is currently in clinical development following the completion of Phase 1 evaluation for a related monovalent Ebola vaccine.
