Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VesiculoVax HIV gag vaccine is an investigational viral vector vaccine developed by Auro Vaccines for the prevention and treatment of HIV infection. The vaccine utilizes a proprietary, highly attenuated, and replication-competent recombinant vesicular stomatitis virus (rVSV) vector to express the HIV-1 gag antigen. It is a key component of the PBS Vax™ prime/boost platform, where it typically serves as a boost following a GeneVax™ DNA vaccine prime to induce robust cellular (CD4+ and CD8+ T cell) and humoral immune responses. The vaccine has been evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials, including HVTN 090 and HVTN 087, demonstrating safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity in healthy volunteers and HIV-infected individuals. The technology was originally developed by Profectus BioSciences before being acquired by Auro Vaccines.
