Overview

Vessilen Kit is a sterile medical device developed by Epitech Group SpA for endovesical (intravesical) instillation. It is designed to treat inflammatory and dysmetabolic conditions of the bladder, such as interstitial cystitis and chronic cystitis, by promoting the restoration of urothelial surface integrity. The kit contains a combination of adelmidrol and sodium hyaluronate. Adelmidrol is a synthetic ALIAmide (Autacoid Local Injury Antagonism amide) derivative of azelaic acid that acts as a mast cell modulator by restoring physiological levels of palmitoylethanolamide (PEA), thereby controlling neuroinflammation and mast cell degranulation in the bladder wall. Sodium hyaluronate, a glycosaminoglycan, works synergistically to re-establish the protective glycosaminoglycan (GAG) layer of the urothelium, providing a physical barrier against irritants in the urine. The product is classified as a Class III medical device and is commercially available in Italy.
