Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VET3-TGI is a novel oncolytic immunotherapy developed by KaliVir Immunotherapeutics. It utilizes a genetically engineered vaccinia virus platform (Vaccinia Enhanced Template, or VET) to selectively infect and kill tumor cells. The virus delivers an immuno-stimulatory payload consisting of interleukin-12 (IL-12) and a transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β) inhibitor. Modifications for the expression of CXCR3 enhance trafficking to tumors and promote anti-tumor immune responses. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1/1b clinical trials for advanced solid tumors as both monotherapy and in combination with checkpoint inhibitors.
