VH-4004280 is an investigational ultra-long-acting small molecule HIV-1 capsid inhibitor developed by ViiV Healthcare for the treatment of HIV infections. It is designed to inhibit multiple stages of the HIV lifecycle by targeting the viral capsid protein, thereby blocking both early and late events in viral replication. Preclinical studies have shown potent antiviral activity with picomolar EC50 values against a broad panel of laboratory and clinical HIV strains. The drug has demonstrated favorable pharmacokinetics with a long half-life (146–208 hours) and was well tolerated in first-in-human studies.
