Overview

VH-N439 is a peptide-based neuroprotective agent developed by Vect-Horus for the treatment of brain ischemia and the induction of therapeutic hypothermia. The drug utilizes the company's proprietary VECTrans technology, which employs peptide vectors to facilitate the transport of therapeutic molecules across the blood-brain barrier (BBB) via receptor-mediated transcytosis. VH-N439 is designed to induce a controlled hypothermic state, a clinically recognized strategy for reducing neuronal damage and improving outcomes following ischemic events such as stroke or cardiac arrest. By crossing the BBB and acting on central targets, VH-N439 aims to provide a pharmacological alternative to physical cooling methods. The program was announced as entering regulatory preclinical development in 2015.
