Overview

VH4770359 (also known as GSK4770359) is an investigational small molecule antiretroviral agent developed by ViiV Healthcare for the treatment of HIV-1 infection. It belongs to the capsid inhibitor class, a potent group of drugs that target the HIV-1 capsid protein (p24). By binding to the capsid, VH4770359 disrupts multiple essential stages of the viral replication cycle, including the nuclear import of the viral genome, virion assembly, and maturation. The compound is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 first-in-human clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy participants, with the potential to serve as a long-acting component in future HIV therapeutic regimens.
