VHH anti-SARS-CoV-2 (Ordaos) is a preclinical-stage single-domain antibody (VHH) therapeutic candidate being developed by Ordaos for the treatment of COVID-19 and SARS-CoV-2 infection. Developed using Ordaos's proprietary generative AI platform and multitask meta-learning Design Engine, these antibodies (also known as nanobodies) are engineered to target the S1 subunit of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, specifically the ACE2-binding domain (receptor-binding domain). The mechanism of action involves binding to this domain with picomolar to sub-nanomolar affinity, effectively blocking the interaction between the virus and the human ACE2 receptor, which prevents viral entry into host cells. The candidate is designed to be broadly neutralizing across multiple variants, including Ancestral, Delta, and Omicron, and offers potential advantages in stability and manufacturability compared to traditional monoclonal antibodies.
