Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VHH89 is a camelid-derived single-domain antibody (VHH or nanobody) developed by COGNANO using its proprietary Inverse Biomarker Exploration Technology (IBMET). It selectively targets a tumor-specific, 70 kDa isoform of the Activated Leukocyte Cell Adhesion Molecule (ALCAM), designated as ALCAM70. This isoform is characterized by its presence in aggressive cancers such as triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), and cholangiocarcinoma, while remaining largely absent in normal tissues. VHH89 is being investigated as a targeting moiety for next-generation antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), radioligand therapies, and companion diagnostics, offering a highly specific approach to treating cancers with significant unmet medical needs.
