Overview

VHHB30-CAR T cells are a form of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy in which patient T cells are engineered to express a CAR derived from the VHHB30 nanobody. This nanobody specifically binds to the N-terminal (non-glycosylated) domain of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), a tumor-associated antigen overexpressed in gastrointestinal cancers such as colorectal and gastric cancers. These modified T cells recognize and kill CEA-expressing tumor cells. Preclinical studies have demonstrated potent and specific cytotoxicity in vitro and effective tumor eradication in vivo in mouse models of colorectal and gastric cancer. This represents a novel approach using nanobody (single-domain antibody/ VHH) technology to improve targeting and efficacy for solid tumor CAR T cell therapy[1][3].
