This combination refers to the co-administration of the **Vi-DT vaccine** (SKYTyphoid) with a specific antioxidant regimen consisting of **N-acetyl cysteine (NAC)**, **alpha-lipoic acid (ALA)**, and **liposomal glutathione**. Vi-DT is a typhoid conjugate vaccine (TCV) developed by the **International Vaccine Institute (IVI)** and licensed to **SK Bioscience**. It consists of the Vi capsular polysaccharide of *Salmonella Typhi* conjugated to a diphtheria toxoid (DT) carrier protein. This conjugation converts the T-cell independent polysaccharide antigen into a T-cell dependent antigen, enhancing immunogenicity in infants and providing longer-lasting immunity. The antioxidant components are studied (e.g., in trial NCT05115487) to evaluate their potential to modulate the immune response and reduce oxidative stress associated with vaccination. The vaccine itself is currently in Phase 3 clinical trials to demonstrate non-inferiority to existing WHO-prequalified TCVs like Typbar TCV.
