VIAcal

VIAcal is a pharmaceutical preparation developed by Biodel Inc. containing recombinant salmon calcitonin as its active ingredient. Designed for the treatment of osteoporosis, VIAcal utilizes a specialized drug delivery system intended for the controlled release of the biologic. As a recombinant protein, it acts as a potent agonist of the calcitonin receptor, which is primarily located on osteoclasts.
