Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VIAject is an ultra-rapid-acting human insulin formulation developed for the treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes. It was designed to have a faster onset of action compared to both regular human insulin and rapid-acting insulin analogs like insulin lispro. VIAject works by mimicking the body's natural insulin response to meals, with a more rapid absorption profile that helps control post-meal blood glucose levels more effectively. The formulation was initially developed with a concentration of 25 U/ml and a pH of 4 (VJ25), and later reformulated to a concentration of 100 U/ml with a neutral pH (VJ7).
