Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VIAL-IL13xTSLP is a novel, half-life extended bispecific antibody developed by Vial (Vialis) for the treatment of Type 2 inflammatory diseases, including asthma, atopic dermatitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and chronic sinusitis. The drug is engineered to simultaneously bind and neutralize Interleukin-13 (IL-13), a key effector cytokine, and Thymic Stromal Lymphopoietin (TSLP), an upstream alarmin. By targeting both an upstream trigger and a downstream effector of the Type 2 pathway, VIAL-IL13xTSLP aims to provide broader and more potent inhibition of inflammation compared to monospecific antibodies. The program incorporates half-life extension technology intended to enable infrequent dosing at projected quarterly-to-biannual intervals. It is currently in Phase 1 clinical development to evaluate safety, tolerability, and proof-of-mechanism.
