Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VIAL-TL1A-HLE is a novel, subcutaneous monoclonal antibody (mAb) engineered with proprietary half-life extension technology to target TL1A (Tumor necrosis factor-like cytokine 1A). It is being developed by Vial as a potentially best-in-class treatment for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), with additional potential in other immune and fibrotic diseases. The drug aims to provide superior patient convenience and efficacy through an extended dosing interval, supported by preclinical data indicating high potency, low immunogenicity risk, and an industry-leading predicted half-life of over 100 days. The mechanism of action involves neutralization of TL1A activity, which plays a key role in inflammation and fibrosis pathways relevant to IBD. A Phase 1 open-label trial in healthy volunteers has been initiated to evaluate safety, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics[2][6].
