Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Vialebex** is a plasma-derived human albumin solution (20%, 200 g/L) manufactured by LFB Biomedicaments for restoring and maintaining circulating blood volume in hypovolemia when colloid use is appropriate. It leverages native human albumin's properties, including oncotic pressure maintenance, antioxidant activity (notably high electron transfer capacity to DPPH due to elevated free cysteine-34), and redox state preservation, as produced via rigorous fractionation and purification conforming to European Pharmacopeia standards with over 20 years of biosafety recognition. Primarily indicated for hypovolemia, it has been explored in trials for septic shock, aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, cirrhosis with infection, and other critical care settings; first approved in France in 1995.
