Viaskin Milk is an investigational epicutaneous immunotherapy (EPIT) patch developed for the treatment of immunoglobulin E (IgE)-mediated cow’s milk protein allergy (CMPA), primarily in children. The therapy uses a dermal patch to deliver small amounts of cow’s milk protein through intact skin, aiming to desensitize patients and increase their tolerance to cow’s milk. The mechanism involves gradual exposure via the skin, which is thought to modulate immune response without direct allergen entry into the bloodstream. Clinical trials have shown that daily application of the 300 μg dose was associated with a statistically significant treatment response in children aged 2–11 years, as measured by increased tolerance during double-blind, placebo-controlled food challenges.
