ViBrin is a preclinical-stage therapeutic candidate developed by ViCapsys Life Sciences for the prevention of post-peritoneal surgery adhesions. The product is a drug-device combination consisting of the chemokine CXCL12 (also known as Stromal Cell-Derived Factor 1 or SDF-1) integrated into a proprietary bioabsorbable, moldable polymer matrix. CXCL12 is a critical signaling molecule that regulates the migration and homing of stem cells and immune cells to sites of injury. By providing a localized and sustained release of CXCL12 at the surgical site, ViBrin aims to modulate the local inflammatory environment and promote regenerative tissue repair rather than the formation of fibrous adhesions. The moldable polymer allows for precise application to internal surfaces during surgery, where it eventually degrades and is absorbed by the body.
