Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Vibrio phage cocktail is a therapeutic formulation consisting of a mixture of bacteriophages designed to target and lyse pathogenic *Vibrio* species, particularly *Vibrio alginolyticus*. Developed as a biocontrol agent for aquaculture, the cocktail is designed to prevent and treat vibriosis, a severe bacterial infection affecting marine species like shrimp. By combining multiple distinct lytic phages, the cocktail significantly suppresses bacterial growth, inhibits biofilm formation, and eradicates established biofilms while reducing the likelihood of phage-resistant bacterial mutants.
