Overview

Vicinalizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2). Developed by the Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, it is primarily utilized as a targeting ligand in the construction of diagnostic nanocomposites, such as gold nanostar-vicinalizumab (AuNS@DV). These nanocomposites are designed for the non-invasive, in situ detection of non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) using Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) technology. By binding specifically to HER2-expressing tumor cells, vicinalizumab facilitates the localization of gold nanostars to the tumor site, which then amplify Raman signals to provide high-sensitivity diagnostic imaging of bladder lesions.
