Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Vidatacro is a branded generic formulation of tacrolimus, an immunosuppressant developed and marketed by Evervital Lifesciences. It is approved for the prevention of organ rejection in patients receiving liver, kidney, or heart transplants. Vidatacro works by binding to the intracellular protein FKBP-12, forming a complex that inhibits calcineurin, a calcium-dependent phosphatase. This inhibition suppresses T-lymphocyte activation and reduces cytokine gene expression, thereby preventing the recipient's immune system from attacking the transplanted organ.
