Overview

Vididencel is an off-the-shelf, allogeneic dendritic cell-based cancer vaccine developed using the proprietary DCOne platform. It consists of irradiated leukemic-derived dendritic cells from the DCOne cell line, which is derived from a patient with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and expresses multiple AML-specific antigens. Vididencel is administered via intradermal injection as a suspension. Its primary mechanism involves stimulating the immune system—specifically T cells—to recognize and attack residual leukemic cells, aiming to reduce or prevent tumor recurrence. Clinical studies have shown that vididencel induces strong T-cell responses and can be safely combined with standard-of-care therapies such as azacitidine and venetoclax. The drug has demonstrated potential in controlling measurable residual disease (MRD) and prolonging relapse-free survival in AML patients in complete remission but with MRD. Vididencel has also been evaluated for other indications including high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), ovarian cancer, gastrointestinal stromal tumors, and previously multiple myeloma[1][3][4][5][6].
