Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Vidutolimod is a virus-like particle (VLP) composed of the Qbeta bacteriophage capsid encapsulating a toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) agonist—specifically an unmethylated CpG-A oligodeoxynucleotide. It is designed to activate plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs) via TLR9 stimulation within the tumor microenvironment. This activation leads to robust production of type I interferons and stimulates anti-tumor CD8+ T cell responses. Vidutolimod is being developed as an investigational cancer vaccine and immunotherapy for various solid tumors and lymphomas. Its mechanism involves both direct immune activation by the VLP and delivery of CpG-A to pDCs for enhanced immune response[1][4][5][6].
