vimirogant

Vimirogant (VTP-43742) is a first-in-class, orally active small molecule inhibitor of the retinoic acid receptor-related orphan receptor gamma t (RORγt). Developed by Vitae Pharmaceuticals, an affiliate of Allergan, it is designed for the treatment of moderate to severe psoriasis and other autoimmune disorders. The drug functions by potently inhibiting the secretion of interleukin-17 (IL-17) from Th17 cells and blocking the interleukin-23 (IL-23) signaling pathway, both of which are critical mediators in the pathogenesis of psoriasis. Vimirogant is highly selective for the RORγt isotype over other ROR family members and is formulated for once-daily oral administration. It has successfully completed Phase 2a proof-of-concept clinical trials in patients with moderate to severe psoriasis.
