Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VinaFolic is a dietary supplement developed by Vesale Pharma, marketed under their Vinalac product line, specifically designed for women's health during the preconception and early pregnancy periods. The product's primary active ingredient is Quatrefolic, a patented glucosamine salt of (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF). This form of folate is highly bioavailable and does not require conversion by the MTHFR enzyme, making it more effective than synthetic folic acid for individuals with certain genetic variations. VinaFolic is intended to provide essential nutritional support for fetal cell growth and to significantly reduce the risk of neural tube defects, such as spina bifida. It was launched in Belgium and Luxembourg in April 2023 and is available through pharmacies and online retailers.
