vinblastine + etoposide + cisplatin

Vinblastine + etoposide + cisplatin is an intravenous multidrug chemotherapy combination composed of three classic cytotoxic agents: vinblastine, a vinca alkaloid that inhibits microtubule assembly and arrests cells in metaphase; etoposide, a topoisomerase II inhibitor that induces DNA strand breaks and prevents religation; and cisplatin, a platinum-based DNA cross-linking agent that triggers apoptosis. This non–standardized triplet has been explored in phase II settings as an intensive cisplatin–etoposide backbone with the addition of vinblastine for solid tumors such as lung and germ cell malignancies, leveraging complementary mechanisms to enhance antineoplastic efficacy at the cost of cumulative myelosuppression and organ toxicities.[7]
