Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CPD100Li is a proprietary liposomal formulation of an N-oxide prodrug of vinblastine, designed to be activated under hypoxic conditions commonly found in solid tumors. The prodrug (vinblastine-N-oxide) remains stable and minimally cytotoxic at normal tissue oxygen levels but is enzymatically reduced to active cytotoxic vinblastine in the low oxygen microenvironment of tumors. This targeted activation aims to maximize anti-tumor efficacy while minimizing systemic toxicity. Preclinical studies have demonstrated potent activity against pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and non-small cell lung cancer models, both as a single agent and in combination with standard chemotherapies or immune checkpoint inhibitors. Cascade Prodrug is developing CPD100Li for the treatment of solid tumors, with an initial focus on pancreatic cancer[1][3][4][6].
