VDLD is a combination chemotherapy regimen comprising Vincristine, Daunorubicin, and Dexamethasone. Vincristine is a vinca alkaloid that inhibits microtubule formation, leading to mitotic arrest. Daunorubicin is an anthracycline antibiotic that intercalates DNA, inhibits topoisomerase II, and generates reactive oxygen species, thereby damaging cancer cells. Dexamethasone is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid that acts as a glucocorticoid receptor agonist, inducing apoptosis in lymphoid cells. This regimen is commonly used in the induction phase of treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), particularly in childhood B-cell ALL.
